They
found gold on these shores!
The history of Gold Beach and the surrounding area is
quite a long and interesting one, where local Native
Americans once lived and fished the plentiful rivers,
and the early settlers cut the magnificent trees for
homes and the little church that still stands in Gold
Beach today. Gold was discovered flowing
down the wild Rogue River onto the black sand beaches of
our shores, and a whole new influx of people began.
